A very important part of this nutritious breakfast

What To Do With Your Giant Pile Of Money

June 18th, 2007

Personal chefs, home gyms, lots of free time—we all know it’s easier to be thin when you’re rich. And if I were rich, I would totally try out one of those health spas. Not the ones with the eight-hour workouts, but the ones with, like, swimming and meditation and daily massages. (Note to people who run spas: feel free to send me to your spa for a week. I will write a lovely review.) How about San Diego’s Golden Door, at $8,000 per week?

The spa offers low-calorie, lowfat-cuisine, and is set in beautiful Japanese gardens with man-made waterfalls. Each day begins at 6am with a mountain hike, followed by a customised physical training programme and daily massage in your bedroom.

Bonus: I get to hang out with Barbra Streisand!

Actually, now that I look into it a little further, screw the health spas. I want to go to a wine spa!

“People are always looking for something new and vinotherapy carries the gourmet thing that much farther. What can be better than getting a grape-seed scrub at a spa on a wine estate – and then getting to taste the wine derived from the vineyards outside?”

Oh my god, wine spa people, CALL ME. I WILL WRITE A LOVELY REVIEW.

There’s always the chocolate spa treatments at Hotel Hershey! Of course, if you are pregnant you might want to go with more conventional and less cafeinated treatments.

Seriously, though, if I’m going on a vacation I want to enjoy it, not take a 20 mile hike in 5 hours. I feel a migraine coming on just thinking about it.

Vinotherapy? Well, the media often goes on about red wine being “heart healthy” and all that.

hey, just noticed you added a tagline I suggested. Thanks!

Yay for vinotherapy. My boyfriend designs wine cellars for a living and makes most his money off commission. Bring on the new-agey, wine-drinking California folk. I want a new living room set.

Vinotherapy…you have just given me a new way to offer to open a bottle of wine.
