Baby Food Diet Cleanse
Bing.com is sending people here because Jennifer Aniston is reportedly on the Baby Food Diet. But she was on the Baby Food Diet all the way back in 2007! I guess this is news because now her trainer is referring to it as the “Baby Food Cleanse.”
The diet involves eating 14 servings of baby food a day followed by a healthy adult dinner, and Jen has reportedly lost 7 pounds in the past week.
Yeah, that sounds healthy.
The Baby Food Diet (and the famous people who love it) is a plot point in the young adult novel I just wrote! (Pear and pineapple, which I tasted for research purposes thanks to my friend Aych, makes an appearance.) So I’d better finish editing my novel so I can sell it and become rich and famous on Jennifer Aniston’s coattails while the Baby Food Diet is still making headlines.

OK, that is just so WRONG that I don’t know where to start. It’s just oh-so-sensible compared to getting cayenne pepper and vinegar into your empty system.
I can’t believe I missed hearing this on the last go-round. I used to get the old plum baby food as a special lunchbox treat as a kid ( we were too poor to have a lot of processed foods). It was pretty tart and yummy.
But that didn’t stop the other kids from making fun of the contents of my lunchbox, let me tell you.
And now-we’re supposed to emulate movie stars who do this to lose weight?
Pardon me, I’m a bit dizzy from confusion.
Gaah.
I meah ga, gah goo goo.
I was so appalled by baby food that I didn’t even give it to my son when he WAS a baby.
Gross.
OMG, aren’t we over this yet? WHY are celebrities still doing this crap? It’d be one thing if she’d just had her wisdom teeth pulled or some heavy-duty dental work done, but does she REALLY need to lose weight? And even if she wants to lose weight (and become a coat rack, apparently), does it have to be like THIS?!?!?!
I mean, OK, it’s better than the heroine diet, I suppose, but it’s still RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!
I’m not understanding why this is better than just eating fruits and veggies, not that either should be eaten for weight loss purposes.
@ Limor: because 100 grams of pureed baby food carrots have 26 calories and 100 grams of carrots have 41 calories. It’s elementary, really.
(also, the stupidest thing I have EVER heard)
Wow, not only is that not sensible, baby food is just GROSS! I lost a bet once and had to eat 10 different baby foods combined together. NOT GOOD!
The Gerber Plum is tasty. But baby food is for babies…come on!
Um…wouldn’t eating all that pureed stuff give you the runs? Just saying…
Ew
@CTJen, I should have guessed that it has fewer calories. I’m glad that this wasn’t around when I was still dieting. I probably would have tried it.
WTH? Seriously??? MAJOR FAIL!!!! This has got to stop…STOP STOP STOP!
So she pooped a lot. I’m impressed. Or not really. Really not impressed.
What must all that baby food do to your poo!?!???
Though I have to add – when I had surgery on my teeth and jaw and couldn’t chew… baby food was my saviour. Then as I healed I moved up into toddler food… and longed like crazy to just CHEW something!
You know, what really appalls me, is that in the early stages post-op, weight loss surgery patients have to eat this slop … and now, her going on this baby food “cleanse” actually, inadvertently even glorifies weight loss surgery …
Idk why everyone is making such a big deal about this diet! It actually has enough calories if you follow it correctly! 14 servings of baby food isn’t a lot of calories bit once you add in a healthy adult meal you are eating about the same amount of calories you would be if you were trying to lose weight! I hate that people judge!!!! Whatever she wants to do to her body let her! You all are annoying with your judgements of this diet! You can’t knock it until you have tried it! I’m trying it right now and my digestive system is tons better than before and it keeps me full and the baby food taste great! Plus no additives so that means it’s better for you! So please don’t judge it’s rude! I’m pretty sure if someone in Hollywood didn’t start this diet many others would eventually!!
It’s a well known secret or not so secret, that body builders eat baby food before a competition, when they need to shed those extra pounds.
Apparently the only negative effect of the baby food diet is that it makes you use large number of exclamation points.
I’m going to try it for a week. I don’t need to lose weight, but what the heck. My coworkers will get a kick out of it too. My metal scooby-doo lunch box with my 14 jars of mush..mmm!
Never heard of the diet, but was making homemade organic food for my 6 month old and tasted the veggies and loved them. I did happen to use the pureed broccoli that he refused to eat. I turned it into a potato topper and it’s awesome.
I wouldn’t want to do a baby food diet, that is just crazy. I have made some changes to what I eat ever since I found out I liked steamed veggies while cooking the baby food. I now have a big bowl of steamed veggies for lunch every day and by doing so have lost weight AND been super full after having lunch. win win!

Honestly, when you think about it, it’s not crazy. Why do you think so many people develop cancer and other diseases, clearly from the foods we eat. Canned foods have chips of metal in them from the inside of the can especially acidic foods placed in cans. Baby food is served in jars because it’s safer. Formula is a different story. Think about everything that we eat everyday as far as additives and chemicals that are supposedly not in baby food. It may be a disgusting alternative but it is a healthier one. I do wonder though if baby food “vegetables” are grown alongside regular vegetables because if they are, then babies are eating pesticides like the rest of us. This diet in theory sounds promising. So what If you have to eat 20 jars it’s still healthier than… Everything else we eat.
I have to say I have been on baby food twice in my life and I am 34 years old the first time was because I had bleeding ulcers as a teen and the Dr. said would be best thing to eat to help heal them and not hard on me. I am now currently on the baby food again for intestinal problems due to keep getting blockages from whole foods for some reason they are not getting digested, processed, or broken down properly and what doesnt come right back up whole gets stuck somewhere in my small intestines so the baby food is easy to digest and stays down. I dont do the veggies or meat dinners ( dont want to eat or try anything looking like baby poo or smells like pet food) but I do eat all the fruits like fruit medley, hawaiian delight, apples/banana/strawberry, mango smoothie, and the best one of all peach cobbler and it trully does taste like the desert without all the sugar and calories a 6oz container only has 60 calories and 12 grams sugar. I am doing it for health reasons but I have to say it not only has helped my intestines, ulcers, but I have lost weight and surprised how one or two jars/plastic containers fills me up and satisfies me.
I understand that fad diets are frowned upon but I have also been eating baby food as snacks and quick meal replacements (sometimes desserts because they are quite sweet.) Im not certain of the conditions on which the veggies grew but I have noticed that there are “Organic” baby foods, so that leads me to believe that they are similar to adult whole veggies. Honestly, Baby food is not terrible. I think the concept is difficult for a lot of people and I admit is is a bit bland but it IS very heathy. Read the labels. I have lost quite a bit of weight eating baby food that my baby wont eat – unless I do first.(Smart tootsie). I have to shop for her and shop for me now -lol. Try to be kind to one another and dont judge. It Actually works – try 20 lbs in 1 month. My system is regular, I feel good and healthy. Its easy, inexpensive, and CAN actually be pretty tasty. Bottoms up :o)
