Most Of Us Will Never Look Like This, Either
But man, these pictures are hot.
V Magazine has released a second editorial from the forthcoming issue entitled “Curves Ahead” that is sure to spark up more debate. It features 5 plus models in everything from swimwear to lingerie to denim to a Lady Gaga-esque leotard. The editorial, shot by Solve Sundsbo, is filled with beautiful woman who have hips, thighs, and maybe a little belly pudge and muffin top but they are all working it for the camera. See for yourself.
A little NSFW!

Those are some great pics, and I am very happy to see belly ‘pudge’ and muffin top! <3
At last, editorial images that I can identify with. It’s real, and that makes it more beautiful to me.
A step in the right direction but I’m curious what everyone thinks of all the airbrushing. Not a single one has a double chin, the area has been shadowed out. Their skin is perfection. They are ageless.
Beth is definitely right. I photograph and photoedit as a hobby and I can spot airbrushing a mile away. There’s absolutely no cellulite in sight. The skin is clearly a product of quite a bit of dodge and burn in Photoshop.
But I guess if skinny women get airbrushed, why not fat women?
Those photos are great, but the first thing I noticed was the airbrushing. I understand why they airbrush, but at the same time, it bothers me.
Hmm…given the VAST amount of airbrushing we see on thin models, I’m not sure this is really unusual. Yeah, they’re zapping the cellulite. But then, I’m sure that happens with lots of slender ladies too. I know that my *gorgeous* size-zero roommate from a couple of years ago had cellulite all over her lower body, and I don’t think that’s unusual.
Not to be a prude, and these are amazing pictures, but isn’t this supposed to be a fashion spread? I’m thinking that naked is kind of by definition 0 fashion. but they are lovely ladies-you’re not wrong to say that I’ll never look like that, even if the body type is closer
This is definitely a refreshing change. Beautiful photos.
I saw these the other day and I was like, yowza! It was kind of nice to see someone more like me modeling fashiony things.
A step in the right direction, but I can’t help noticing (in addition to the airbrushing) that “Plus Size Models” never go beyond a certain size and shape. They may be fat, but they’re not TOO fat. They are always beautiful (which, of course, is what we want in a model), but they are also always well-proportioned and just larger-sized version of ‘normal’ people. NEVER would we put a woman with a belly hanging down to her knees, or back fat that looks like an extra set of boobs, in a ‘fashion’ spread. Maybe we’ve come a long way, but we’ve still got a long way to go.
Or course they’re airbrushed.
The pictures are gorgeous. Why are we complaining that they’re not “fat enough?”
