You're So Pretty
I love this pool. I just want to go through each one of the pictures and exclaim over your beauty. I check the pool several times a day to see if anyone has added a picture. More pictures! Tell your friends! Tell your neighbors! We are very pretty. (And a whole lot of us wear glasses. That is an interesting trend.)
Also interesting is the conversation going on at Flickr, where raven says:
ok it was meant to be a picture of me, right here and right now, but no i had to flick thru and find a pic i actually like, which may I add is nearly a year old, why is this? Why can’t i post what I look like right now and be happy with that pic of me floating around on the web?? Is it vanity ? Is it how II’ve been bought up (always put ur best foot forward etc)? Shouldn’t I be happy and proud of me right now? Did you all use a pic taken in the moment, or did u scroll thru?? Please be honest and post ur oppinions also… would love to discuss this! raven xxx
Here’s my honest answer, raven: I took a pic taken in the moment, but I took a series of pictures and picked the best one. (A couple of different lighting angles, and just the right kind of half-smile. In one of the discarded pictures, I looked too cranky.) (Also, I tousled my hair to the side a little bit.) My next post to the pool I think will be a full-body shot, although if you’re doing a self-portrait, that’s a little trickier…we only have one full-body photo though. (It’s very awesome.) But I have a self-timer, I should be able to figure it out. And god only knows what machinations I’ll go through with that. What outfit should I wear? What angle will be cutest? If I had my camera, I’d just take a picture right now. My outfit is cute.
Anyway, let us know: if you posted a picture, what process did you go through to pick or take one? Did anyone upload their very first attempt? How does it feel to see your picture up there? And if you didn’t join the pool, what are you waiting for?
(If you don’t have a Flickr account and would like to participate, send your photo to piegirl[at]gmail[dot]com. Suggested subject line: TIWBLL photo.)

I don’t have a camera at the moment, but I have a few pics of myself that I like – so I went through them and picked the one that I felt showed me the way I see myself – beautiful! *grin* The pic was taken at the beginning of the hen night of my best friend (I hope the pictures of the END of the night are never seen in public). :-)
I actually uploaded my first attempt. I was shocked it looked so good, haha. I did take more than one picture, but the one that’s there was the first of the bunch. I didn’t necessarily look for the “best” one, but the one I thought looked most like “really me”.
Seeing my own picture in there doesn’t make much of an impact on me, but I have to admit that I was thrilled to see that a friend of mine added her picture after seeing mine. I wish all my friends would, because they’re all beautiful.
What a great idea! Almost makes me wish I had a camera. But the more I think about it, the more I’m inclined to stay with my lonely little leaf of fern icon since more people know that’s me than they would if they saw a picture.
I love this pool too! Everyone does look so beautiful! Great idea! That’s the first picture I’ve EVER posted of myself online.
