Kourtney Kardashian’s Post-Baby Weight Loss Secret? Photoshop.

January 26th, 2010

At least according to OK! Magazine, which grabbed a photo of her, photoshopped all the baby weight off her, and slapped it on the cover with a headline reading “MY DIET SECRETS: LOSE 10 LBS IN 10 DAYS.” Must be seen to be believed.

The real crime? Anyone getting sucked in enough to buy/believe OK! Magazine in the first place.

Ten pounds in ten days? Yeah, just *give birth.* Gee whiz, what a world.

Magazines likes OK! are on their way to losing all their credibility.

OK’s credibility has never been that great anyways. They usually post pics and fabricated stories without the celeb even knowing. Its basically just a gossip magazine. I would just laugh at it if I were Kourtney. I mean, it’s really not funny, but it kind of is stupid funny.

I’m less disgusted by the Photoshopping than I am by the unquestioned assumption that your first priority after having a baby should be losing weight(rather than, say, taking care of the baby and yourself.)

Actually, I’m also quite sick of the assumption that anyone cares this much about the reproductive habits of celebrities. If the person having the baby isn’t me, a family member or a personal friend I really don’t give a crap.

empressmitzi, I know what you mean. People go nuts over a celebrity pregnancy/baby like it’s some unheard of great achievement. To me, like you said, I don’t care about it unless it’s someone close to me. It would be like some random chick walking up to me going, “Look at me and my baby!” I’d be like, “Yeah? ….and?” Sure, having a baby is a beautiful thing, but it happens thousands of times every day, no need to obsess over it.

Stuff like this needs to be publicized more because, honestly, if you’re like me and you don’t spend much time keeping up on magazines you don’t always know which ones are reputable. It wasn’t until about a year ago that I learned how many of the gossip mags flat out make up their interviews, photoshop pictures, make up diets.. I mean, seriously. Obviously the magazines with bat boy on the front are total trash but when these types of magazines sound perfectly plausible.. it’s easy to not realize.
