Haiti Help
Rachel has a great post up about making donations to help Haiti, with a list of reputable charities. I hear that Doctors Without Borders is doing especially good work on the ground; right now they are working on setting up an inflatable hospital. But there are also stories out there of people posing as charities to scam money. So make sure you donate through their website directly.

My local news posted some tips on how to make sure you are not donating to a fake charity:
Watch out for links posted through twitter
Avoid anything asking for your personal information
Avoid unsolicited emails
These may seem obvious but of course you can never be too careful.
Its so difficult to know right now where is LEGIT and where isnt….

Ask Samaritan’s Purse. Many groups have strong reputations.
Also, many nonprofits were already in Haiti before this happened, so they cannot have had ulterior motive, because the land and people have nothing to give.
orld Relief is also a great organization.
