Street Fashion
When I used to work in San Francisco, I’d often notice fat chicks who were dressed awesomely. I was always tempted to to take their pictures, to ask them where they bought what they were wearing, and to copy their looks if I possibly could. I never did any of those things, so I’m really glad we have The Manfattan Project (pictures of streetwear in New York City) and Saks In The City’s Curvy Street Style (Paris).
It’s like Fatshionista out in the wild! And it’s awesome. It’s thanks to blogs like this that I now own bright green tights, although I might not have the hang of it yet.

I want to know where some of those women got their outfits! I wish i had the confidence to rock my style like that.
I have also noticed a lot of larger women who have the best style, with awesome hair and makeup as well. These women also radiate confidence and sexiness, they probably have men beating down their doors for a date.
I’m dying to be featured on the Manfattan Project. One of these days, they’re going to find me.
Wow, fashion blogs had led me to believe that fat women don’t exist in cities anymore – this is pretty awesome and I wish I had their clothes and their fashion sense and the guts to pull it all off!
Thanks for this. I check out The Sartorialist occasionally but I get tired of looking at models trekking down the streets of Paris, Milan and NYC. It’s nice to get inspiration from someone/thing that is at least attainable.
I totally get how you feel! In the standards of the world, I’m not that fat. Maybe chubby. But not fat. But I still have a hard time dressing myself because of my body shape. That is why I simply admire plus-sized chicks who dress really awesome. Maybe I should start a blog dedicated to that. Our country could use it. There is still a lot of discrimination about big girls here.
