Nik, I love that show! I would love to be part of that guy's entourage, so I could try (but not be expected to finish) all those crazy eats.

Ian, I think we should try to incorporate fresh jalapeno with the chocolate covered bacon. Add a vegetable and that makes it a salad, right?

Last night I saw Man V Food on the Travel channel and fell in love with the show. It's also about intensely crazy, fatty, amazing 'grub food.' This guy travels throughout the country and eats very big, very American junk food. Pizza slices bigger than a baby, crazy big burgers loaded with insane toppings. It's like the opposite of this site, but a similar shock value.

Not only would I eat all those foods, I invented chocolate-dipped bacon! I just forgot to patent it.

For what it's worth, yes I am thin. If I had been fat, and Jimmy Kimmel make a fat joke at my expense, I would have called immediately HIM out as a fat person and told him he shouldn't have gone there.

I'll cop to eating some of the things on that website and wanting to eat some more of them. The fried mac and cheese nuggets are AWESOME - Sonic had them for a while, and I was very sad when they went away.

Some of the stuff is really nasty, however.

I think if the website had a different title I would like it more.

I couldn't even get all the way down the page. Eeeek.

The only thing I would consider trying is chocolate covered bacon, but that's really more a morbid curiosity than actual interest.

This is interesting because it actually just came up at my work a few days ago when a co-worker, who is actually getting into interesting conversations with me lately about all of the concepts around self-acceptance/fat acceptance/HAES, etc, suggested this site as "Hilarious". I personally don't find it hilarious, maybe cause the title conflating Eating This Stuff with Being Fat just makes me roll my eyes. Otherwise though I find if fascinating just to scroll through and see what these folks have deemed "Vile" and "Over the Top". Seeing as such terms are subjective I kinda wish folks COULD comment on things because I'm sure there is stuff there that just looking at makes my stomach roil when others would be happy to take a bite. Likewise I know a few items on the first page even made me think, "Hey, those flavors would probably go well together!"

It is interesting to me that on fat acceptance blogs, most of the comments about that site tend toward, "eww, gross... and totally not why I'm fat." There is a thread about it on the snopes message board right now that has a few fatties in saying "eww gross, and also that title is rather offensive," but for the most part, it's full of thin people going, "That looks good... I would try that... I have tried that, it was great..."

RE: Fantine & La di Da,

There isn't anything wrong with liking salads or anything of that nature. I actually do enjoy vegetables quite a bit and I was just giving in to a bit of hyperbole back there.

However I occasionally feel like I fail at being teh fatz because I don't embody the ANTI-Fat stereotype that most fat activists seem to. My fat is due in part to my genetics (large, german farmers!) and also because of my kind of crappy diet and general dislike of most exercise. But as you pointed out MANY thin people love deep fried cheese as much as I do and hate the StairMaster with a similar passion, however I'm the one who gets chided for it, not the thin person.

I'd say that I'd try a bite of any of those (except no chives on my hot dog please), just to see what they were like. My husband wouldn't eat any of them - LOL.
