Your blog is wonderful! And as far as "model maker" I am so glad that they did not air that show. It is the most disturbing idea for a television show. Making young women into models by forcing them to lose weight. Sick! I can't believe that MTV was even considering such a thing!

I didn't realize MTV had morals anymore. I'm guessing we got the attention of the one person at MTV, that still hasn't been brainwashed to have no moral conscience.

Here's to hoping MTV doesn't find out who this person is, and send them in for re-education on how g-string booty shaking, and shows like Jackass which make light of the abuse of other people, is grade A material.

i think you're missing the point, bbw pimp. it's not that thin women shouldn't be seen as attractive. it's that girls shouldn't be told that attractiveness comes in only one size, which is very thin, which the show's participants are whittled down to over the course of the season. the casting calls sent out by mtv for this show explicitly stated all of the above. shows which focus on diet for appearance typically endorse extreme weight loss measures that could easily turn into eating disorders for girl watching (if they don't already for the show's stars!), and declare that they are justified. there is a world of difference between saying that any level of self-abuse is acceptable in order to be thin and therefore "beautiful" by the producers' standards, and simply saying that you personally find slender women attractive.

I for one had no problem with the show, I most likely would not watch it but I do believe in the freedom to broadcast what you wish, and if it sucks nobody will watch it .
i vote with my off switch.
just like some of you would love to see a pluss sized modeling show many would want to see this and it was taken from them, how fair is that? I have a cousin that used to be a working model back in the 70's she was rail thin and still is, and she eats more than me(at the age of 53). but I guess that does not matter admiering a thin form is evil I guess, I like chubby women as is my right, and others have their rights to like thin girls.

Yay!!!!! This is most excellent news indeed. I would love to see a show about plus size models who model as they are. I don't want to see them being molded when they are quite beautiful as-is.

I cannot believe that for ONCE, MTV has done the right thing.

And, is it silly that I feel somewhat personally triumphant about this?
