Of course at least one very articulate person in the comments decides that this food, which is clearly a one-time only insane food item = fat people. At least I’m guessing that’s what this means.

fatty mcfatfat fatties YOU PEOPLE ARE SICK FATT FAAT UR SICK FATTIES

Okay, dude, duly noted. These donuts are responsible for the existence of fat people, and you hate fat people. Well, I hate you, so we’re even! Some other comments:

My heart attack just had a heart attack

I’m still trying to decide if these are just plain crazy or just plain crazy delicious.

At first glance I was a bit sickened. Now I’m intrigued to try one out.

I would try a bite. I might regret it, but I would try it. As seen on sallysimpleton’s livejournal.

Speaking as a fat chick, that sounds disgusting. But then I’m just not a cheeseburger person. Meat, yes. Cheeseburger, no.

  2. SilverSeraphim, on August 1st, 2008 at 4:09 pm Said:

I do not like Krispy Kreme- they over glaze everything.

That- it is just plain wrong, it is. Bacon cheeseburger abuse, it is. What did those poor beef patties and slices of cheese ever do to those sadistic chefs? :P

  3. ladyjaye, on August 1st, 2008 at 4:17 pm Said:

I look at that and I feel slightly nauseated. It’s just too much, you know?

  4. Rosemary, on August 1st, 2008 at 4:33 pm Said:

I’m the first to admit that I love doughnuts beyond all reason, but even I feel this is taking it a little far. But only a little. I *have* tried the maple bacon doughnut, after all.

And why is everyone posting about doughnuts today? It’s like some kind of magical collective unconscious deal. I love it! But it’s making me hungry…

  5. Lori, on August 1st, 2008 at 4:37 pm Said:

I like cheeseburgers. I like donuts. However, I have absolutely no desire to combine the two, and the thought of it makes me a little sick.

  6. Desdemona, on August 1st, 2008 at 4:40 pm Said:

Paula Deen (for whom I feel a sick, voyeuristic fascination; I know should look away, but I just can’t…) did something like this awhile back, and I think it actually trumped the time she wrapped green beans in bacon and deep-fried them. Gotta have your vegetables, y’all! Anyway, I have to agree with the “slightly nauseated” comment above. This is just wrong, wrong, wrong: too much of too many varieties of grossness in too much quantity. And I’m not just saying that because I’m vegan, either!

  7. Limor, on August 1st, 2008 at 5:07 pm Said:

I just threw up in my mouth a little.

  8. Crystal, on August 1st, 2008 at 5:35 pm Said:

I have tried these and although I thought they seemed like a bad idea they actually tasted fantastic. It is too much though and I don’t think I would probably ever eat one again.

My daughter and I call them “Elvis Burgers” because we think it seems like something he would of had his maid make him at 3:00 a.m. for a “snack” :D

  9. Mindy, on August 1st, 2008 at 6:00 pm Said:

I’m a fatty but I can’t imagine eating one of those. I like donuts on occasion — and by that I mean that I get a craving every few months, down about 3 or 4, then don’t eat any until the next craving in 3 or 4 months. I like cheeseburgers if they aren’t too huge and overwhelming. I just can’t imagine eating a cheeseburger with a Krispy Kreme as the roll.

  10. Alix, on August 1st, 2008 at 6:09 pm Said:

That just looks like major ick. I like donuts a few times a year, or did before I found out I couldn’t eat gluten anymore, and I like cheeseburgers and probably have two or three of those a month (on alternative grain buns), but the combination just sounds ew to me. But I know some people love the chocolate bacon thing and I don’t get that, either.

  11. nuckingfutz, on August 1st, 2008 at 6:16 pm Said:

    I LOVE Krispy Kremes.
    I like cheeseburgers.

But the thought of a Krispy Kreme cheeseburger? Makes me want to vomit. Or maybe not vomit. It makes me want to engage in an involuntary personal protein spill!

  12. Gamer Girl, on August 1st, 2008 at 6:29 pm Said:

The idea sounds gross… and yet terrifyingly, there’s a slim chance it might taste nice (and then make me very, very sick). Therefore, I would rather not try a bite.

I have had a foodie livejournal friend try one once, I think he thought they were okay but not something to do often.

The most ‘awful’ (in the sense of ‘going to make trolls laugh and throw Fat Grenades at me’) food I’ve ever tried was a deep-fried oreo. It was also awful in the sense of DISGUSTING. To my taste, at least. EW.

  13. Twistie, on August 1st, 2008 at 7:12 pm Said:

    I love cheeseburgers.

I enjoy a donut about once every five or six months.

I couldn’t imagine combining them any more than I would seriously consider combining apricots and mashed potatoes.

There are some awesome things that should just never be combined. These are two of them.

  14. Sarah, on August 1st, 2008 at 8:41 pm Said:

Nope, wouldn’t eat it. Totally gross.

  15. Mindy, on August 1st, 2008 at 9:19 pm Said:

Damn! Now I want to mix dried apricots with mashed tomatoes to see what it tastes like.

  16. Wendy, on August 1st, 2008 at 9:51 pm Said:

Actually, I think they look durned tasty. Not for everyday, and I’d like mine with a veggie patty, please, but really, the only improvement I can think of is if they made the donuts baby-flavored.

  17. yellowhammer, on August 1st, 2008 at 10:26 pm Said:

Oh heck yes I’d eat one, if only because everyone around me would be squealing, “Ewww, grossity gross gross!”

Its the same reason that prompted me to try a bacon chocolate bar.

  18. Liza, on August 1st, 2008 at 10:49 pm Said:

    donuts=good
    burgers=good

    together=vomit

  19. Ali, on August 1st, 2008 at 11:00 pm Said:

I’m a vegetarian. But if they found a way to make it with just egg and cheese, I would have one.

Oh wait, they already do. And they call it the McGriddle! HA!

No, but seriously. The donut gets a bad rap sometimes, but I know that a glazed Krispy Kreme has 90 or so calories in it. The bacon, cheese and beef are a different matter. I’m sure it would be good. I’d say you’re looking at possibly a 900 calorie sandwich? If that’s the way you want to spend it, then by all means…proceed!

  20. sunshine, on August 2nd, 2008 at 3:49 am Said:

umm….i’d take a bite and try it atleast. then afterwards, I would go workout and eat sensibly for like the rest of the week.

this is the type of meal you eat like once a year (or maybe decade)!!!

  21. Gingembre, on August 2nd, 2008 at 9:34 am Said:

I’d try it, if only so I could say I did. Not a food that anyone should live on exclusively for the rest of their lives, but then that’s equally true of lettuce.

Lori: “I like cheeseburgers. I like donuts. However, I have absolutely no desire to combine the two, and the thought of it makes me a little sick.”

    +1 to this entire quote

  23. jamboree, on August 2nd, 2008 at 10:33 am Said:

    Totally, completely gross.

A deep fried snickers bar, though… maybe.

  24. Cassy, on August 2nd, 2008 at 11:43 am Said:

I’m fat and I don’t eat meat nor have I ever had a Krispy Kreme donut. I wonder what happened… Anyway, even if these were veggieburgers, the whole thing seems gross to me. Maybe if the donuts weren’t glazed and they were just the plain cakey stuff it wouldn’t be so bad.

  25. Amanda, on August 2nd, 2008 at 12:18 pm Said:

Though I’m not a terribly big fan of Krispy Kreme, the idea of this concoction is a lil intriguing in the same way jamboree mentioned fried snickers bars are intriguing.

On that note…I tried a bite of the fried twinkie once at the fair, and it tasted like paper. Too much hype, too little actual goodness.

  26. Peevish, on August 2nd, 2008 at 2:00 pm Said:

    Meh.

I loooooove Krispy Kreme hot glazed. I love cheeseburgers. This, not so much. I’d try a bite, just to say I did. I’d rather have them separately, though.

  27. tigi, on August 2nd, 2008 at 3:09 pm Said:

I’m going for “gross,” but I don’t really like donuts or cheeseburgers. Or bacon. My skinny roommate loves all three, so I wonder if she’d like it…

  28. Wish, on August 2nd, 2008 at 4:35 pm Said:

Wow does that look revolting…but then again, there’s that whole chain of restaurants in LA dedicated to fried chicken and waffles, so who knows, it might not be quite as horrific to eat as it is to look at.

  29. Lindsay B., on August 2nd, 2008 at 6:23 pm Said:

I’d be intrigued to try it, just once…but the sugar alone would kill me. Maybe half of one, to see what it tasted like.

It’s one of those, it’s either extremely, over-the-top, Mouthwateringly GOOD, or extremely, vomit-at-the-touch-of-the-tongue BAD. XD And that all depends on the person.

  30. Becca, on August 2nd, 2008 at 7:15 pm Said:

    To state Martha Stewart

“That is not a good thing!”

  31. Grace, on August 2nd, 2008 at 7:18 pm Said:

I would definitely eat one of these! My only question is: What on earth type of sauce comes on this? Ketchup? BBQ?

Also, chicken and waffles is one of the most amazing food combinations ever. Roscoe’s is sooo good.

  32. Ily, on August 2nd, 2008 at 10:29 pm Said:

I know some people like to “mix sweet and savory”. Apparently that’s an avante-garde thing to do. I was never into it, but to each her own! That said, I will try anything, as long as it’s vegetarian.

  33. Alyssa, on August 2nd, 2008 at 10:36 pm Said:

Um, that’s a little scary. But then, Krispy Kremes kinda frighten me, just on their own. Maybe I should see a therapist about that, and not bother anyone else with my issues.

  34. Jackie, on August 3rd, 2008 at 1:01 am Said:

This reminds me of when I went to Wisconsin, and BTW no offense to Wisconsin people. However, they had like deep fried candybars on their menu, and I was like “How can people eat this?!” That’s how I feel about Krispy Kreme Cheesburgers. Maybe it’s cause I have less of a sweet tooth than most people, but the idea just makes me feel nauseous.

  35. Molly, on August 3rd, 2008 at 1:29 am Said:

I keep going back and forth on whether this is delicious or repulsive. I think it might be like a car wreck, where you don’t want to see the carnage but you can’t look away at the same time.

Either way, I think this may be the eighth deadly sin. (way too big for ‘gluttony’)

  36. SeaShore, on August 3rd, 2008 at 8:50 am Said:

This is something I might have tried at one point. I used to like sausage McGriddles, so same thing really.

  37. tigi, on August 3rd, 2008 at 9:45 am Said:

Jackie — as a Wisconsinite living in Minnesota, no offense taken. Fried candy bars always seemed a little effin’ wacky to me. Thing is, they do that not only at the Wisconsin State Fair, but the Minnesota State Fair, too. I blame our long winters. Cabin fever has made an entire region of crazy people…

  38. Bree, on August 3rd, 2008 at 10:42 am Said:

You couldn’t pay me to eat that.

  39. K, on August 3rd, 2008 at 1:39 pm Said:

I’m with Ily: I’m also vegetarian, but even considering it as sweet doughnut + grilled cheese is making me feel a little nauseous. I just don’t go for the combination of sweet and savoury.

I come from the land where they invented the deepfried Mars Bar* (Scotland) and I still don’t think this is going to find a big market, somehow.

*I’ve never tried one, partly because I’m sure I would like it if I did, and I refuse to be a stereotype. Although I’ve heard that sometimes they fry them in with the fish, which sounds like a really, really bad idea. Fishy chocolate!

  40. DaniFae, on August 3rd, 2008 at 1:43 pm Said:

I’m voting just plain wrong, probably because I don’t like glazed donuts, too sweet, I like the occational, as in once a year or so cake donuts though. And I don’t eat cheesebugers (or beef) period.

I do like sweet and savory together, though, this, like Iron Chef’s fish icecream, just makes me feel mildly ill from the thought of the combination.

P.S. Ohioans do deep fried candy bars too…never had one though…

  41. Godless Heathen, on August 3rd, 2008 at 2:36 pm Said:

Dude! I can’t even stand to have maple syrup touch my bacon. Not a big fan of ground beef and cheese, doubly not a big fan of anything sweet near anything savory.

This isn’t a fatty thing, this is a “some people will eat anything” thing.

  42. The New Girl, on August 3rd, 2008 at 6:04 pm Said:

    LOL.

In my family, we call Krispy Kremes ‘Fat Pills,’ because that’s what they look like. And what they are. lol.

But really, what do we expect from a country that invented a deep fried Snickers bar??

    lmao.

  43. Bozoette Mary, on August 3rd, 2008 at 7:52 pm Said:

I think I would prefer the chocolate-enrobed bacon, but it sounds kind of intriguing, I must admit.

My husband decided to dip bacon in the chocolate fountain at our last holiday party. It was very popular!

  45. Lil, on August 3rd, 2008 at 8:15 pm Said:

Omg. Sorry, when I saw this I couldn’t help but think about Jim Gaffigan’s bit about the donut/ham hamburger – two donuts sandwiching a ham sandwich on top of a hamburger!

He was JOKING, Krispy Kreme! Gah! XD

  46. Gabrielle, on August 3rd, 2008 at 10:11 pm Said:

    red wine a sleeping pills.
    Electrical appliances and sea water.
    Paul Mcartney and Heather Mills.
    Curry and mint tooth paste.
    Donnuts and cheese burgers.

What do you think of my list of things that SHOULD NOT GO TOGETHER

  47. kb, on August 3rd, 2008 at 11:16 pm Said:

yeah, I think I have to vote bacon cheezeburgers=good, and doughnuts=good. but soo not a good plan togther. I can’t imagine it tasting good. Is there anyone here with more data? I’d love a firsthand experience. Bacon chocolate, though, I’ve had and is delicious.

  48. Rachel, on August 4th, 2008 at 8:19 am Said:

Oh, gross! Even if I weren’t vegetarian, I don’t think I have the iron stomach for one of those. I have to eat my hubby’s veggie chili with a side of Tums as it is!

  49. DOYYYY SHOU, on August 4th, 2008 at 9:24 am Said:

OH GODS AND BODKINS, IT’S BLINKING AT ME!

You know that “beef” patties are really the remnants of mobsters that the mafia scrapes out of wood chippers, right?

  50. mousemouse, on August 4th, 2008 at 10:16 am Said:

I would definitely try this, just to say I did. Plus, there is a high chance it would be delicious!

BTW, it doesn’t seem like this has anything to do with the Krispy Kreme company, Google made them for someone’s birthday. How nice!

  51. mccn, on August 4th, 2008 at 10:17 am Said:

holy moses. Something about super-sweet + meat isn’t doing it for me, either. I’m not a major doughnut lady, myself – but I did get a smooch out of a Krispy Kreme once, so I can’t totally hate on them.

Hardly surprising it brings the eedjits out of the woodwork, is it?

  52. Micki Chevalier, on August 5th, 2008 at 1:32 pm Said:

  54. POAndrea, on August 5th, 2008 at 3:24 pm Said:

God help me, but I would try it. Can I get bacon on it too?

Seriously, though, it’s kinda like a croque monsieur (cross between french toast and hand-and-cheese sandwich). I like that one too……

  55. littlem, on August 6th, 2008 at 4:04 am Said:

    No.

    That is all.

  56. Cat, on August 6th, 2008 at 10:55 am Said:

Where to start? No, no one makes anyone eat these, which is good because if someone did, I would hurl. And yet, and yet…we can find these in any major city, and yet we have to search high and low for organic food, local food, slow food, moderate food? Sure, it’s there(usually, kind of), but is it ANYTHING like as easy to find a fresh, local, organic vegetable plate as it is to find a Krispy Kreme cheeseburger? Are the slow/local/healthy/moderate choices as easy, as varied, as cheap? See answer key for correct response, which is, as they say in these parts, “HAY-ull no!”

So my real question is WHY? Why can some idiot come up with this ungodly concoction and actually get it on some chain’s menu, when that chain could be marketing local tomatoes and broccoli and even fresh frybread to vegetarians, vegans, locavores, and all the other folks who’d like something minimally processed and marginally less wasteful and cruel? Why? What is it about us as a country that makes this disparity not only possible, but likely, and then scoffs at the fat? Who, it’s true, are not forced to eat these things, but who also are not often readily able to find the good stuff instead? Too weird. Too sad.

  57. mo pie, on August 6th, 2008 at 11:14 am Said:

You can’t find these anywhere; they aren’t on a chain’s menu. They were a one-time-only thing for a Google party.

  58. Brandy, on November 8th, 2008 at 10:46 pm Said:

I just have to say that I would defintiely try one of these. I agree that it would be a one time (or once every two years) thing – like deep fried twinkies. I winced at the thought of deep fried twinkies and 5 years later when I tried one I swooned. I also loved your reaction to the “fatty mcfatfat” comment. Bad for you food does not equal fat people, Mr. McFatfat. I’m a 95 lb. mother of four and I don’t diet nor do I deny myself the occasional (or more than occassional) giant sweet treat!

Also, I am an organic believer. I do believe that we can cure most anything by what we put into our bodies. But really, why do some people turn everything into a huge issue? Why is organic food so expensive? Let’s see…maybe it’s because organic food costs more to produce. Sounds crazy but it’s true. You pay for quality like in any other market. Like I said, I have four young children and buying organic milk at $7 a gallon is killing me. If someone wants to eat a Krispy Kreme bacon cheddar burger SO WHAT! No one is holding your mouth open and shoving one in. We all have the freedom to eat what we want and goverment cannot regulate that nor should they! It’s not like smoking where it’s being blown in our faces and pulled into our bodies against our wishes – it’s a burger.

  59. Bubba Bexley, on May 21st, 2009 at 3:45 pm Said:

Some things were meant to be left alone. A good cheeseburger needs no help from a donut.
