It’s fat-tastic!

Now With Hyphen!

February 20th, 2008

The “fat-osphere” (punctuating that is getting more complicated by the minute) is in a Chicago local weekly called RedEye (with Kate Harding on the cover). Here’s a link to the article:

A negative body image, on which some weight-loss programs try to capitalize, can be a barrier to engaging in healthy behavior, [Sarah Catanese] said. “I think people who are more comfortable in their own skin are more likely to exercise, to take care of their bodies.

For [Kate] Harding, doing yoga at least three times a week makes her feel good and confident. Through her blog, she said, she’s helping others understand that not hating themselves is possible. Once they start loving their bodies, then they can start living their lives…

“You’re spending mental energy on hating yourself and trying to become a body type you’re not meant to be,” Harding said. “You’re wasting so much time and losing opportunities to go out and do things you love.”

There’s also a sidebar story about The Pretty Pear.

Other blogs mentioned in the article are Big Fat Blog, Big Fat Delicious, The F Word, and The Rotund. Congrats, guys!

I also like fat-o-sphere. It’s much less serious!

Haha! Remind me on March 17 to change the tagline to “Faith and begorrah, welcome to the fatty o’sphere!” I’ll make all the other ones inactive that day. That rules, Michele!

Yay! I’m glad you like the Fatty O’Sphere. After I posted it, I was worried that it might have been offensive.

I think “Love Your Body. Live Your Life.” should be a tagline if it isn’t already. And it should be on a t-shirt, too.

It is fantastic. I added it to the tagline pile! Where is it from?
