I’m happy to brag that our very own Big Fat Deal has been selected as an Editor’s Pick on BUST Magazine’s Girl Wide Web. At the moment you can see us us right on the BUST main page, but we’re also at the top of their Our Bodies, Our Hells section, where you can give us a rating (cough cough) and everything.

Another site recently added to that section is Fatasstique. It’s currently under construction, but there’s plenty of empowerment happening there already.

This isn’t about telling you how to be the right kind of fat woman. You don’t have to tuck in your shirt-tail or bare your arms or wear a bikini to accept and embrace your big beautiful self. The day you see me in a sleeveless top you’ll know I’ve decided to take myself out by the most rare and painful way known to women…..complete mortification.

What it is about is just being. Being fat, to be specific.

I look forward to checking out some of the other Girl Wide Web sites, and to basking in our fleeting moment of Internet glory. And hey, it occurred to me as I was writing this post that–and I know Wendy will be disappointed in me–I do not actually have a subscription to BUST; I buy it off the newsstand or read it in friends’ bathrooms. I am off to remedy that situation right now!
