   I notice how actresses like Kate and Salma Hayak who refuse to conform to the current anorectic-sized model are dubbed “curvy.” Is curvy then just an euphemism for “healthy?”

   Maybe we should just start calling them “healthy actresses” as opposed to “curvy actresses.”

   I have always loved her and I couldn’t stand all of the fat comments when she did Titanic. Most young actresses these days are not really very talented, just nice to look at in some cases. This girl has got it ALL. She’s my favorite actress after Katherine Hepburn and Bette Davis.

   It’s been my observation that the media’s use of “curvy” is always code for “slightly fat.” Simply because she doesn’t have the long, rectangular body of a 12-year old boy as so many Hollywood starlets do, she’s called “curvy” and implicated to enjoy food maybe just a little too much.

   I’m just stunned that anyone with eyes thinks Kate Winslet is anything other than the near-epitome of the standard of beauty. She’s a spot-on hourglass with not a ripple or pudge to be seen. Heck, even in that picture that’s linked to this post, her clavicle looks sharp enough to cut.

   Is it just because she regularly dismisses dieting as a bad idea? Because she didn’t go into hiding while “regaining her shape” after having a baby? Surely, it couldn’t have anything to do with her actual, physical being.

   If Kate Winslet is NOT thin, then I’d best just slap some pressure-treated redwood to my ass and call myself a house.
