I heart Greg Grunberg, and I think he looks fiiiiine no matter what his size.

I do think WW might have chosen a more flattering picture to put on his interview, though. Unless that's meant to be his "before" shot, what with the slouching, squinting, and five o'clock shadow.

WW is one of the first method that used an "assitance" program. I'm not a WW and in Italy, from where I'm writing, they closed the branch for economic reasons. I met many women that followed the method since early days and lots of them lost weight at the beginning but didn't succeed in keeping the results forever. The only secret I believe in, and work with, is changing habits and especially ATTITUDE. Attitude meaning way of thinking about the results... forever; way of thinking about the strategy... coming from the person; way of thinking about the method... just a tool for the person's success. What makes a person succeed in losing weight and keeping the new shape is the way of taking the responsibility of it, all the rest: diets, gym, WW, and others... are just tools.

Maybe "fffbweeeeeeeet"?

I'm chuckling at Rachel's comment--you can kind of picture the WW execs dope-slapping each other in the board meeting. Wait, we forgot to target THAT OTHER 50% OF THE POPULATION DANG HOW COULD WE HAVE OVERLOOKED THIS?!?

I too lurve me some Grunberg; he'll make an excellent spokesdude, even though I find him juuuuust fine a little homestyle-chunky.

I love Greg Grunberg! He seems like the end product of a genetic experiment to breed the world's nicest, happiest, friendliest man. I think he looks cute being a bit heavy. I have an urge to hug him. But I also think people have the right to chose how they want to look and I'm happy he's found something that's working for him right now. But even if he gains back 50 pounds I will still adore him :)

WW had to keep up, at minimum, with NutriSystem, who is using Tommy LaSorda and a bunch of football players to promote the idea that you can eat "man food" and "STILL LOSE WEIGHT!!!"

Which brings up a whole additional issue set about consumerism and sexism and American society, but whatevs.

How about "ffffffaaaaoooooooooooohh"?

(You know, those two-pitch party horns, like they have at the Carlyle on New Years' Eve.)

I think it's interesting all the ways in which Weight Watchers is now marketing their products to men. I mean, what a great untapped market for them: every other person in the United States. Way to go Weight Watchers! Let's rake in billions more money by making men too feel insecure about their bodies with a diet plan that has a very low long-term success rate!

Also, I can't help it, but it annoys me that things that are gender-neutral but used by a lot of women need to be man-ified before men will use them. I'm sure this move will bring WW more business.

It's frustrating being in a WW meeting with a couple of men. They do just seem to melt away and talk about it as so easy. The same thing happened with me for the first 5-10 lbs, then everything slows down.

I have to admit that I'm glad I've given up that madness. (I've spent over $1000 on WW and I gained it all back when I stopped going - and no I don't want to be at a WW meeting perpetually.)
