Oh God. When I first saw that commercial, I started crying as soon as the first screen hit with “She hates her freckles,” because obviously I did too when I was a kid and … oh!

I’m with you, Mo. Yes, they’re selling a product but I like that we have a reminder for ourselves out there that we’re the best defense girls have that they don’t have as many of the issues we all did.

I would like Dove a whole lot more if they would use the same full-figured models they use to hawk anti-cellulite cream in their ads selling products everybody uses, like soap.

Dove’s always lauded for using “normal-sized” women in its “firming cream” ads, but really, why would they use a size 0 supermodel to sell cream for a problem commonly (and erroneously) associated with fat?

Also, Dove’s parent company, UniLever, also owns SlimFast, which has made fortunes off of exploiting women’s insecurities about their bodies.
