Wait, she’s not supposed to be able to share her point of view because she doesn’t represent some employer? Are columnists who represent some corporate news entity really objective or perhaps do they represent the interests of their employer’s political view and the interests of the advertisers?

It would seem in your view that she is not fat enough, ugly enough, or corporate enough to be able to share her views with the public. I’m happy that she and others like her have a place to air their opinions.

I would not presume to know the details of your life, even with YT’s window. If my blogs have come across to you as self indulgent, to an extent you are right. I have found a lot of confidence through the support I have received from viewers, sharing their stories, encouraging me to keep going, and I feel fortunate that the majority have been so kind to me. I get cruel comments too, but I genuinely believe that a person who’s first reaction is spite and cruelty is obviously best avoiding altogether.

You feel that I wouldn’t have gotten the same support had my face been less attractive? I worry about that too, yes, and perhaps I have played into it in some of my blogs. I am thankful that people listened to my opinion though. There are a lot of comments where people only mention my looks, and whilst flattering or hurtful (depending on their viewpoint), there are many who actually took the time to listen.

You expressed concern that anyone on YT can spread an ‘unwise’ message and gain respect, that is true on any democratic platform. I simply voiced my opinion, based on my personal experince as a plus size woman. Pretty or not, it would be false to think that any plus size woman doesn’t feel some sort of stigma or struggle with today’s obsession with being slim. I feel it too, therefore I chose to talk about ideally what I’d prefer: acceptance based on more than just a ‘look’.

My blogs are simple, yes, you have noticed. I have no acting experience, production values, no real direction with them, I simply blog about what feel at the time. So if my simplicity and lack of true direction, my face and exploitation of my boyfriend are offensive to you and non-representative of your life as a plus-size woman, I am sorry that you thought I should be ‘more’ than what I am.

If my YT platform is my choice, here is yours. It is good to have a place to vent opinions and ideas, isn’t it? I wish you the best.
