His face lit up like Rudolph when I took my sweatsuit off

Thanks, I love it!
She’s taking a gold-pants bite off of Leslie Hall!

LOL!!!!!!!! Funny, I love it!!!
Okay, so I think this is hilarious and awesome, and she looks great, and I love how she totally owns her size.
Then I think about Leslie Hall, who is another white-chick hip-hop novelty act, and is also awesome and hilarious and totally owns her size, and suddenly this looks a lot different. I’ve always noticed that whenever Leslie Hall does a video, there are all these “WTF” comments from people (mostly guys) who just don’t get her. They don’t see how she’s funny at all, as if a fat woman doing an over-the-top rap star act somehow doesn’t make sense to them.
But I bet that most people get Chunky Pam, even if they don’t like her. They get her because she’s doing what women are culturally expected to do (act sexy), and also what fat people are culturally expected to do (eat a ton of food). It’s almost as if the only way a fat chick can be sexy is to eat sexily. It all reminds me a little of the ads for Fat Actress, which couldn’t show Kirstie Alley in a sexy nightgown without also showing her lying on a giant scale or on a huge cake or some damn thing.
Which isn’t to say I don’t enjoy the Chunky Pam video, because I do. But the comparison to Leslie Hall just got me thinking…
I don’t have anything profound to add, but that’s a very interesting comparison. I remember those Fat Actress ads, and you are so right. She could dress sexily only if she was drizzling herself with hot fudge at the same time.
Great video. Also, great point, Wendy. I hadn’t thought about that before, but I think you are so right.
CHICKEN BLING!
I want chicken bling… :C
